TESTIMONIALS

CROWN COMMERCIAL SERVICE

Engaged since April 2023, we worked on a project to migrate high-profile public-facing web sites and services from  the Government Platform as a Service (GPaaS) to AWS. This had to be completed prior to December 2023, when GPaaS was decommissioned. Since the migration, we have continued to provide support and AWS expertise.

"The standard of service was extremely high, and played a key role in allowing CCS to achieve its objectives successfully migrating its infrastructure to AWS. Andrew demonstrated extensive technical knowledge and high levels of productivity to assist in provisioning the required Infrastructure components for each project, as well as assisting in the migration of relevant data and building application images. Andrew additional provisioned a new Jenkins cluster in EKS, leveraging his strong knowledge of AWS, which has subsequently allowed the business to harness the power of CI/CD, and use this as the primary deployment agent for AWS hosted projects. Andrew also displayed great interpersonal skills, engaging with numerous stakeholders across the business to provide relevant updates and assist/up-skill others as appropriate."

SKY

Footprint has been engaged with Sky over two periods dating back to 2017. The first time was to perform an architectural audit of the microservice applications used for Sky's online video platform. The purpose of this audit was to identify single points of failure and to make recommendations to eliminate them.

A subsequent project involved the design and provisioning of a scalable load testing platform on AWS EKS that could be used to simulate the activity of high volumes of users. This was a prerequisite for launching the Peacock streaming service for the US.

"Andrew developed a scalable EKS-based platform for load testing of the Peacock service, allowing us to simulate the activity of 40 million users. The platform was set up to utilise spot and on-demand EC2 instances only when needed, keeping the costs much lower than our previous attempts to perform cloud-based load testing. This enabled us to complete the testing in time for launch."
